Additional Information

Aquaman (Arthur Curry) is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the character debuted in More Fun Comics #73 in 1941. Initially a backup feature in DC's anthology titles, Aquaman later starred in several volumes of a solo comic book series. Though arguably not as iconic as Batman or Superman, Aquaman is one of few superheros to remain in continuous print since the Golden Age of comics.

In 2011, Aquaman was rebooted as part of a relaunch of the DC superhero comics "The New 52". Aquaman's story followed Arthur after he abdicated the throne of Atlantis and became a full-time superhero. This series also featured redesigns of most of the major characters including Aquaman, whose new belt buckle is pictured here. In recent years, Aquaman has also appeared in the DC film universe portrayed by Jason Momoa, most recently in his solo film in 2018.
