Additional Information

Apples have been dubbed "nature's toothbrush" because they help clean teeth and massage the gums. This slogan was coined in the early 1950s by the National Apple Institute as part of campaign aimed at schools and the medical and dental professions. By 1953, hundreds of dental health films were being circulated throughout the U.S. promoting the apple as "Nature's Toothbrush."
