Additional Information

Tennessee Tuxedo had a television series titled Tennesse Tuxedo and His Tales, which was produced by Total Television and originally aired on CBS from 1963-1965. Total Television also produced other animated favorites such as King Leonardo and Underdog. Both Tennessee Tuxedo and Underdog were created by Joe Harris, who also created the Trix rabbit mascot. General Mills was one of the primary sponsors. The show focused on Tennessee Tuxedo, a penguin, and Chumley, a walrus, that lived in the Megapolis Zoo. The show featured other recurring characters, such as Phineas J. Whoopie, a man with all the answers. One of Tennessee’s catch-phrases is, “Phineas J. Whoopee, you’re the greatest!” Trix cereal revived the show in 2014 as a five-episode YouTube series.
