Founded by Gottlieb Heileman in 1858, the brewery operated indepedantly in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It built the "World's Largest Six Pack" adjacent to the facility. After the company's takeover in the 1990's and investment problems, it is now part of Pabst Brewing. At it's height G. Heileman's was the 3rd largest US brewer.
