Ghostly International is an independent record company based in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1999 by Sam Valenti IV, Ghostly has become known for its support of electronic and experimental artists, seeking to redefine "art as a democratic space". The brand has also succeeded in merchandising and expanding into multimedia, commissioning work from independent artists and creating an aesthetic experience that moves beyond music as an auditory medium. In his mission statement, Valenti claims to view art as "beyond boundaries or classifications of the day." Ghostly's most notable artists include Gold Panda, Matthew Dear, and School of Seven Bells.
