Additional Information

Bennigan's was a food restaurant chain established in 1976 in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of the Pillsbury Corporation. By the early 1980s, Bennigan's had become one of the best known of the new style mid-range casual dining franchised eating and drinking establishments in the United States. Although popularity waned as the company split to become Bennigan's and Chili's, the Irish-themed dining establishment still had locations around the globe in 2018. Bennigan's and similar themed restaurant Houlihan's were the inspiration for the scene in Office Space where Jennifer Aniston is berated for not wearing enough buttons or "flair."

"C'mon get happy," is a common phrase most likely originating from the song Get Happy. Originally sung by Judy Garland in 1950, Get Happy refers to a musical movement of African American gospel music. The phrase and tradition were popular and later inspired the full use of the phrase, "C'mon get happy," as the theme song to the television show, The Partridge Family in the 1970s. C'mon get happy new year is a play on words of C'mon get happy and happy new year.
